The accommodations consist of four ranch style homes,
three of which are three bedroom/three private baths
and the fourth is located by the river and sleeps
ten with two bathrooms and we can service up 40 hunters
at a time. The Upper House is well suited for larger
groups and provides a sitting or meeting room. The
Lower House accommodates smaller groups and couples.
Each building has a covered porch and offers dramatic
views of the sun and moon rising over the hill country
in the east. Turkeys roost in the oak trees overlooking
the river and can be observed browsing in the river
in the morning.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at our new
2000 square foot restaurant along with our open complimentary
bar. In addition to other amenities we have satellite
television, pool and card tables and access to the
Nueces River for fishing, swimming or relaxing.
When you arrive in camp on the first afternoon, you
are taken to your room to get settled in. A casual
lunch and social mixer is served at the restaurant
to provide you a chance to meet and greet your fellow
hunters and our staff.
Orientation is provided before you leave for your
first hunt.
Upon return from the hunt, your birds will be tended
to and you will be given time to freshen up before
dinner.
Dinner begins with appetizers and cocktails. We try
to serve game appetizers at dinner. After everyone
arrives at the restaurant, the chef serves a gourmet
dinner.
The first night is Steak Night. Our grill master
cooks 12 to 14 oz. rib eyes to a perfect medium rare
and serves them to you directly from the grill. A
fresh salad and our signature steam vegetables along
with baked potatoes makes Steak Night a crowd pleaser.
Desserts include cobblers every night plus the chef's
choice.
Breakfast is cooked at the restaurant and can include
bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, breakfast breads,
fruit bar, tacos, potatoes, etc.
Lunch can include hamburgers, deli style lunch, soups,
beans, homemade salsas, and myriad other specials
that come to the chef's mind on any given day.
Dinner on the second night can range from roast pork
loin stuffed with cream cheese; spinach and crushed
black pepper to roast beef with accompanying appropriate
side dishes.
Any and all special dietary needs are expertly accommodated.
You'll never go hungry at Nueces Canyon Lodge.
