Operated by David Denies and Associates, our Córdoba dove shoot was the original in Argentina, and it continues to thrill visiting hunters from all over North America and Europe.
The province of Córdoba is centrally located in Argentina and enjoys a mild climate that changes little throughout the year. The thousands of acres of grain crops, coupled with suitable roosting conditions has produced a dove population that is sustained at 23 million birds. Many shooters return from Córdoba saying, “You have to see it to believe it!”
Your hosts, David Denies and Robin Benedict, have been guiding trips in the region for nearly twenty years and are dedicated exclusively to Nueces Canyon Outfitters clients. Their diligent scouting by both land and air ensures that Nueces Canyon Outfitters' clients will have the opportunity to shoot plenty of shells every day. In the field attentive bird boys are on hand to re-supply shells, retrieve downed birds and keep cool drinks at the ready.
The typical shooting day in Córdoba begins with breakfast at 8:00 AM, followed by a short drive to the pre-selected fields, then nonstop shooting until lunch. Córdoba is fantastic for all skill levels -- set your sights on the more challenging high flying birds or go for shear numbers and fire at the waves and waves of doves just above the tree line. At times you’ll notice pigeons overhead which are fair game as well.
Lunch is yet another reason why our clients love David Denies and Associates— weather permitting, you will enjoy a wonderful meal in the field. The traditional asado-style lunch features an open-air barbecue of famous Argentine beef, dove, pork and sausages, complete with fantastic wines and fresh crisp salads. If you’d like, enjoy a relaxing siesta before returning to the fast and challenging shooting. The afternoon session will last until approximately 6:00 PM when you’ll return to Pica Zuro Lodge. Relax by the pool with a cocktail, explore the surrounding acreage or take a nap before savoring a delicious dinner with your fellow shooters.
Because Córdoba offers a true year-round season, a two or three day extension can be easily added to other shooting in Goya, Chaco or Uruguay and with dorado fishing at the new Pira Lodge in the Ibera marsh, or even with trout fishing in Patagonia and Chile’s lake region.
Accommodations
Pica Zuro Lodge is a collaboration between David Denies and Associates and
Fernando Carreras, proprietor of the Nervous Waters family of lodges --
including Kau-Tapen and Pira Lodge in Argentina's northeast. Built with style
and comfort in mind, Pica Zuro offers eight luxurious rooms, living, bar and
dining areas, and a beautiful game room. Dining and services are unmatched in
the dove shooting world. We feel Pica Zuro has truly set a new standard.
Enjoy the refreshing pool after long day in the field during November through February, Argentina’s summer months. During the coldest months of July and August, relax next to a roaring fire in the inviting living room.
Season
The season is truly year-round. One may take the weather into account when
choosing the time of year. Remember that the seasons of South America are
opposite those of North America and Europe.
Other Activities
Relaxing by the pool during the hot summer months is always popular. Horseback
riding is available, as well as trekking the surrounding area. Córdoba City,
strong in Jesuit history, offers churches, museums, universities, antique stores
and limited shopping. A city tour may be arranged for a small additional fee.
How To Get There
Because Córdoba City is second in size only to Buenos Aires, there are numerous
international and domestic flights, arriving and departing the nearby Córdoba’s
Pajas Blancas International Airport from all other major airports in Argentina.
Although there is no non-stop flight service from the U.S, connections in
Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires will generally put you in the fields by 2:00 PM
on arrival day. Please note that Nueces Canyon Outfitters is a full-service travel
agency with many years of experience scheduling flight service to South America.

Documents Required
A valid passport is needed for travel to Argentina. Please note that while en
route to Argentina, you will be required to complete a “Tourist Card” which will
be stamped upon entry in to the country. You must relinquish this card upon your
departure.
Inclusions
Deluxe accommodations; services of a professional hunter-guide; all meals at the
estancia and shooting area with wines, beer and open bar; laundry service; daily
boot and gun cleaning; all ground transfers between the Córdoba airport/Estancia
Belgrano and the hunting fields as required by the itinerary; pick-up boys as
required; hunting licenses/permits; all payments to land owners for shooting
rights; meeting and customs assistance in Córdoba; taxes and service charges.
Exclusions
Commercial air travel from point of origin through return; shot shells; all
gratuities; telephone calls and faxes; room service or items of a personal
nature; baggage overweight charges or insurance; passport expenses; $100
surcharge (one way) for single passengers requiring Córdoba airport/ shooting
area transfers; cost of itinerary modification requested by the passenger;
transfers in Buenos Aires if air schedule requires you to change airports.
Deposit
A 50 % deposit per person is required to confirm a reservation. Deposits are
nonrefundable unless client replacements are found by canceling party. Final
payment is due 90 days prior to departure. No refund will be made for unused
land transportation, accommodations or meals included in the tour. Receipt of
deposit and/or final payment by Nueces Canyon Outfitters is acknowledgement that
registrant has read and accepts cancellation/refund and responsibility clauses.
A $500 deposit for shells is required due to advance volume pre-purchase
necessary from manufacturer. (This deposit is refundable if client cancels). We
highly recommend the puchase of travel insurance.

Other Information
Taking your favorite guns into Argentina is as simple as filling out our South
American Shooting questionnaire and providing a few other key documents. The
Nueces Canyon Outfitters will forward the information to our outfitter and ground
operators who will assist with guns clearance procedures. There are Beretta and
Benelli shot guns available for rent as well. David Denies & Associates will
provide plenty of 12, 20 and 28 gauge Fiochi brand ammunition, all priced at
$10.00 per box. (Add $2.00 per box for gun rentals.)
